Stock market volatility

With the volatility of the stock market, is now a good time to invest or sit for a few months to see what else happens?

Q.

With the volatility of the stock market, is now a good time to invest or sit for a few months to see what else happens? I think now is a good time to invest with shares being so low. I am going to use the equity in my house.

A.

A home equity loan is a good idea because you eliminate the possibility of margin calls. Only you can decide when is the right time to enter the market, but if you are uncertain, you could talk to an adviser about investing a set sum each month. This is called dollar cost averaging and enables you to make long term profits even if the market starts to fall at the time you make the first investments.
