Should I put the money with a fund manager or buy another property after selling the existing property?

Q.

I have a Sydney unit which is earning $800/wk. I want to invest another $500,000. Should I put the money with a fund manager or buy another property after selling the existing property?

A.

You will need to decide whether you want to continue investing in rental property or whether you want to move to shares and have the decisions made by a full time fund manager. This is something you have to decide for yourself, but a big factor in your decision should be the skill you have shown to date in selecting well located run down properties with good growth potential.
