Is there the same level of deposit guarantee with internet banking accounts compared to a more traditional bank account?

Q.

Is there the same level of deposit guarantee with internet banking accounts compared to a more traditional bank account? Is there a difference with a bank internet account, eg NAB iSaver, and a non-bank, eg ING Direct, in terms of guarantees?

A.

The on-line accounts offered by organisations like BankWest, ING and NAB are just as safe as any other account with them.
