Improving your credit rating

Q.

I declared voluntary bankruptcy in my early 20's as a result of a bad marriage that left me with a lot of debt. I have now been discharged from bankrupcty 2 yrs and was wondering how I start improving my credit rating again?

A.

Stat by reading The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason. It's only a tiny book but has been a best seller now for over 80 years and should really help you. Then try to establish a small line of credit with someone local such as a newsagent or pharmacy. Once you establish a good record with them, you could borrow at a higher level. Just make sure you religiously stick to your commitments.
