How can I get out of debt?

Q.

I am $18,000 in debt and very stressed out as to how I get myself out of this situation. I am very embarassed to discuss this problem as I am only 19. I have maxed out my $1500 card and am struggling to repay a personal loan of $4500. The remaning $12000 is what i've built up over two years of borrowing large amounts of cash from friends. This therefore makes it hard for me to obtain a consolidation loan as the majority of my debt isn't on record. Do you have any advice you can offer me?

A.

I suggest you call Lifeline and take advantage of their counselling. The cost is usually very small (if any) and they will assist you to make arrangements with your creditors if this is appropriate for you.
